Fall Winter 2011
Well you wouldn't know today that winter is just around around the corner but it is. The fourth and fifth grade class is preparing for winter by knitting wool hats. They first are in the process of completing a wrist band in which I introduced knitting in the round on double pointed needles. I believe they are having a positive experience using double pointed needles. I am really pround of them.
First grade will begin learning how to knit this winter. I believe they will be ready soon. I can't wait to see how much they will enjoy it.
Second and Third grade will be knitting a Saint. They will knit a person (doll). They will learn how to purl and how to correctly sew together knitting.
2nd/3rd and 4th/5th have knitted squares so that we may construct a large quilt for the Winter Lite Fair. They are getting more excited about this.
